Is "Into the Wild" the Warrior book? If so, that is such a brilliant series. I haven't heard of the other two, unfortunately. Mine are "Warriors: The Darkest Hour", "Fight Club" and "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King". |

Three books come to mind. Adult fiction here, read these when i was kid. The First Chronicles of Druss the Legend by the late David Gemmell. Heroic fantasy about an anti-hero sort of character, fantastic fights and battles, real human emotions and morales. Blood Crazy by Simon Clark. Post apocalypse horror sort of novel. read this when i was 14 and it really did get under my skin. You wont look at your elders the same again. Domain by James Herbert. Another Post apocalyptic book, the third in the The Rats trilogy. Nuclear war has happened, the mutant rats with a taste for human flesh have lived secretly under the heel of man for years can feel a shift in power, man has become weak. Good horror novel. Loads of others but these came to mind first. |

I really couldn't narrow it down to three books, but I'll give three I enjoyed. The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks - I'll count this as one book because there are trilogys that are combined into one book once their successful (Lord of the Rings). This was brilliant, it had plot twists that kept you guessing, action that was great to read, an amazing story line and brilliant characters. I was totally engrossed in the story and it is probably my favourite series that I have read. Sword In The Storm / Midnight Falcoln by David Gemmell - The first two books in the Rigante series. They follow on from eachother and this is another story that was brilliant and I couldn't put down. I love the main characters of the books, Connavar in the first and Bane his son in the second. The Icarus Agenda by Robert Ludlum - The book is split into two parts. The story is interesting but one that can be hard to follow. I found myself having to really concentrate which furthered my enjoyment as I was drawn in for hours. The main character is likeable and most people could relate to him (his personality more than who he is and what he does). |

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick - A brilliant post-apocalyptic exploration into the meaning of humanity. The story follows Rick Deckard as he hunts down androids who've escaped slavery on the "off-world colonies." The film Blade Runner was very losely based on this book. How It Works by Graham Marks - The story of a hedonistic teenager who screws his life over and is saved by a mysterious stranger (thankfully not the Fallout 3 Mysterious Stranger...) So he tries to find his "guardian angel." Excellent book. A Darkling Plain by Philip Reeve - The final book in the Mortal Engines Quartet (Hungry City Chronicals in USA). It finishes the series in such an epic way. I love this series, and this was the best. |

I couldn't say three series!! I work in a bookshop and love reading!! But i'll give three series I enjoy and try and put a couple of less well known ones in there!! Chronicles of Thomas Covenant: This is a fantastic series and there are currently three chronicles and the last chronicles is only up to the second book though. It is an adult fiction series by Stephen Donaldson and I suppose the best classification would be fantasy. It represents some fantastic themes by following the actions of Thomas Covenant, a leper, who arrives in a land which he perceives to simply be a dream. Yet his nerves heal and he must struggle with himself in order to 'survive,' both mentally and physically while at the same time attempting to deal with the problem caused by his white gold wedding ring; being the salvation or destruction of this 'dream' world he is in. It really is a brilliant book!! And while I know I gave it a bad summary there due to not having the books on me and not reading them for a while I can not recommend this series enough. One thing I will say though is that there are some themes and ideals in these books which are definitely adult in content. I won't say what here and it is rather important to character development etc but if you do want to know more PM. Or if you read the series let me know!! The Wheel of Time: This one is probably more popular than the previous one and follows the struggles of three young men, born in the same village pulled from their home by an Aes Sedai, ancient protectors of knowledge and power. Once again a fantastic series. It is currently up to book 12 with two to go. The original author passed away and the series is now being finished by Brandon Sanderson and so far I think he is doing a good job. Sword of Truth: Similar series to above except Richard Cypher is handed the sword of truth which with he is expected to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Thrown into a world of magic and intrique Richard must find a way to survive and defeat his foe with only Kahlan Amnell, the last confessor and Zeddicus 'Zul Zorander, first wizard to help him!! I'll leave it at that for now If you want to know more let me know ![]() Rob, what sort of books do you read?? Or want to read?? I'm paid to help people find books :P So should be able to help you find something =D ~TIm |

I've never read the Sword of Truth but I love the show Legend of the Seeker which is what it's based off of. I mean it's mostly because I have a celebrity crush on Bridget Regan (Kahlan) but it's still a really good series. |

Hehe, yeah. It's a great series, though the way they took it too the tv was different from the book and I can't quite decide which I prefer. You should read the books though, they are really good ![]() Yes, Bridget is hot!! I know exactly how you feel there!! But they were at Armageddon and I saw their panel and turns out Cara (can't remember the actors name lol) when not in costume is a stunner!! And Craig Horner isn't too bad either :P Just look at that body!! ![]() But yeah, I can't wait for S2 to start here in NZ!! And i'm hoping to go along to the set sometime soon!! As it is set here in NZ, and would love to be an extra though I don't really know how to go about it!! /LotS *cough* books *cough* ~Tim |

My top 3 books? Wow, that's really hard to pick. I guess some of these books you mightn't have heard of, because I'm only 13 and I read strictly fantasy books, lol. The Demonata, by Darren Shan: A really great horror seires. I guess you could call it horror/fantasy. The books aren't just about a main protagonist, It's split up into lots of them. In the first book, Lord Loss you have Grubbs Grady, in the second book Demon Thief you have Kernel Fleck, in the third book Slawter you have Grubbs again, and in the fourth book Bec you have Bec. There are ten books in total. I recommend the series to anybody who loves horror or fantasy. Great reading. The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien: The most amazing fantasy books I've ever read in my LIFE! It's about a hobbit called Frodo who embarks on an amazing adventure to destroy an object, the One Ring which is a dark item. It can only be destroyed by being thrown into the fires of Mount Doom. Many other characters like Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Sam, Meriadoch, Pippin and others play very important roles too. The Inheritance Cycle, by Christopher Paolini: I can't stress how much I recommend this series to any fantasy lover. It's an absolutely amazing tale. I've read the first three books, and cannot wait to read the fourth. (Whenever that comes out.) It's about a 15 year old farmboy called Eragon, who finds a blue dragon egg while hunting in a forest. He becomes connected to the dragon inside the egg, and names her Saphira. There are so many twists and turns in the series, and will you keep you guessing forever! My favourite book so far is the secod one, Eldest. Those are my three favourites, I guess. I also loved The Saga of Darren Shan, The Golden Compass, Mattimeo, and many others. |
